Erand Tail (Castor Oil) by Shri Ganga is a commonly known oil and has been passed to us from many generations. It has been mentioned several times in Puranic and Ayurvedic scriptures. It comes from castor seeds that are known to be laxative.It is used in ayurvedic therapy of Panchakarma that detoxifies the body and removes excess ama.  It is considered to be internally cooling for the body.

 It is commonly used in Ayurvedic medicine in healing of ovarian cysts, improves blood circulation, treats wrinkles, asthma, arthritis, constipation and other problems. It also makes the hair thick and long and treats skin disorders like eczema and psoriasis. It also moisturizes the skin and removes dryness. It also treats wounds, corns and burns. It is rich in anti-bacterial properties that treats many anti-bacterial infections.  

Active Ingredients

Castor oil (Ricinus communis): Castor oil helps increase levels of lymphocytes, which are the immune system’s natural disease fighters towards bacteria, diseases and toxins. It also improves blood circulation. Since Castor oil is completely natural and synthetic-free, it is useful for skin disorders. It effectively reduces unnatural swelling, redness and inflammation of the skin. Castor oil orally to pregnant women to induce labour. The side-effect for this can be nausea. Castor Oil heals the skin and makes for an excellent moisturiser and anti-ageing solution to get rid of various signs of ageing by increasing the production of collagen. It is a mild laxative when taken orally and can relieve one of constipation and regularise the process of digestion. These seeds have a toxic enzyme called ricin but heating these seeds to obtain the oil makes it safe to use.

How to use

This oil can be mixed with sesame or almond oil and then should be applied to the scalp or skin depending where the affected area is. For consumption purposes, take 2 teaspoons with milk. For children use 1 teaspoon with milk.
