Active Ingredients:

Ispghol Musallam, (Plantago ovate) – Isabgol (Psyllium) Husk has gentle laxative action that depends on the fiber content, so it is not actually true purgative. We can categorize it under bulk-forming laxatives. The flour of Isabgol Husk is added in multi-grain flour to enhance nutritive value as well as fiber content of cereal flours. Isabgol is very rich in fiber and it absorbs water from the intestines and produces more bulk, which stimulates intestinal contractions and peristaltic movements. Due to this, the passage of the stools becomes easier and thus it removes constipation. According to ayurveda, Isabgol is a good remedy for acidity and heartburn. Isabgol when passed through the food pipe and stomach, it lubricates the membranous walls, which reduces irritation due to the excess acid. It also flushes out the excess acid from the stomach to the intestines by absorbing the acid. Thus, due to these mechanisms, it helps reducing the symptoms of hyperacidity and heartburn. Folk practitioners commonly use psyllium husk pudding to reduce white discharge and leucorrhea. Isabgol may stop the progress of Yeast Infections (Candidiasis) and other microbes. Further, it is mild anti-inflammatory, which reduces inflammation of soft tissues including inner walls of private organs and reduces discharges.

Tukhm Khatmi, (Althaea officinalis) – Marshmallow is most commonly used to ease sore throats and dry coughs. Marshmallow has been used to treat certain digestive disorders, including heartburn, indigestion, ulcerative colitis, stomach ulcers and Crohn’s disease. Marshmallow extract is sometimes added to creams and used to treat inflammatory skin conditions, such as eczema and contact dermatitis. Marshmallow may be a helpful aid to radiologic esophageal examination. There is tentative evidence that marshmallow may also help with respiratory disorders such as asthma.

Tukhm Methi, (Trigonella foenum graecum) – Fenugreek is an interesting herb with diverse uses and many potential health benefits. Fenugreek seeds have a healthy nutritional profile, containing a good amount of fiber and minerals, including iron and magnesium. Research suggests that fenugreek may increase breastmilk production and the rate of weight gain in newborn babies. Initial research suggests that fenugreek can boost testosterone levels and sexual function in men.

Castor oil, (Oleum ricinus communis) – Castor oil is a natural remedy derived from the castor bean (Ricinus communis). The main component of castor oil is ricinoleic acid, a type of fatty acid shown to possess anti-inflammatory properties. Long used in traditional medicine, castor oil is sometimes taken orally as a laxative, used topically to stimulate hair growth, or applied as a skin lubricant. Some also use castor oil to induce labor in pregnancy or to start the flow of breastmilk.
